[North has been wandering around the Mother of Invention, looking for South.]

Hey, York. Have you seen South anywhere?

Not a clue. Tried Connie's room? [Because really, that's one of the most likely places to find the other Freelancer.]

Shoot. I tried there earlier, but no dice. Guess I'll try checking again.

Do I want to know why you're hunting her down? [Because it could be anything from just a mission thing or something had actually gone down.

Or she'd done something.

With South, who knew. ]

It's nothing bad. Just, a note from home managed to get through and I figured we could open it together. It's not like it's a rush or anything.

[Except for the part where he really does want to open it.]

Well I'd say look for Connie, maybe Wash might know? I haven't really seen them since dinner. Hope it's good news either way.

There isn't much he can do but wait of course. Waits on his couch, tapping his foot, frowning at his phone. He'd actually called the locksmith once York confirmed he was going to save him. Because frankly, he didn't care to have a locksmith there when York showed up. He'd rather watch York there working with his nimble fingers. And the guy owed him. Better not to make it bad enough that York had to pay for labor charges for a task he could do himself.

It didn't take York all that long to pick up the supplies, setting the bag down on the front step before he started picking the lock. Takes a little longer than usual, but he gets it and lets himself in, closing the door behind him.

"...So drinks first or door first?"

"Door," North says as he gets up and moves to take the bag. And then he pauses, looking at it.

"Provided you can get it open now that you've closed it."

"It's unlocked and once I get the knob off, there won't be an issue." York hands him the bag before moving back to the door to get started.

"That probably needs time in the fridge anyway."

"Alright. But if we're locked in here together I'm going to be annoyed," North reminds him as he carries the bag off to the kitchen to put the drinks in the fridge. Soon he was back to lean against a chair and watch York.

"Did you bring tools?"

"If we're locked in here together, we'll figure something out, and yes, I did." York glances over his shoulder before turning back to removing the door knob.

"It's not hard to take off a door knob."

"Not something in my wheelhouse," North grinned, and yes, he's watching his friend work. Very nice hands those. Nimble.

"When you get it off, you'll show me how you messed this up, right?"

"I'm not sure I was the one who did." Even if he's focused on the door.

"I'm usually pretty careful about picking locks, you know that."
